July 4th Celebrations

We celebrated July 4th over two days but I'm just going to do it all in one lost post.  Luckily our town's freedom festival was on July 3rd before the rain started (and lasted for DAYS).  Our church volunteered to help with the inflatable section so Josh was busy all day and the kids and I just went to play!

While waiting on the fireworks to start the kids ran around and played with friends for almost two hours in a huge field by our middle school.  They loved it!

when it finally got dark we brought out the glow sticks!!

ready for fireworks

Happy 4th of July!!

It rained ALL DAY so when there was a small break in the rain we took advantage and did some fireworks

Our friends came to celebrate with us.  Sweet Micah had no idea why there were so many loud noises and lots of smoke.  My kids loved watching Micah as much as the fireworks

more sparklers!!

silly daddy impressing the kids with TWO sparklers! :)

We ended the night catching lightning bugs.  They did not stay in the jar long though.  Sweet Isabel looked up at us with tears in her eyes and said, "but if we put them in the jar, how will they go and play with their friends?"  We let them out.

Sparklers

A couple of days before July 4th, we went to a fireworks tent to get a few little things to do in our backyard.  Of course as soon as we got home, Josh the kids couldn't wait to try some things out.  In the past, Isabel and Will have both refused to do sparklers but FINALLY this year they realized how much fun they were.....and did about a million over the next few days.

Back to Birmingham

Once again, the kids and I took our annual trip to Birmingham while Josh took a bunch of teenagers to camp.  This time our trip was a little shorter due to our crazy tball schedule.  I knew there was no way not to miss a game but I didn't want Will to have to miss 2 games.  It is always impossible to fit in everything we want to fit in and that less day made it even harder.  We still had a great time and enjoyed the friends and family we were able to spend time with.

To be honest, I think I only took my camera out of my case one day.  Oops.. Pretend you can also see pictures of the kids swimming, playing with Nana and Grams, playing with friends and so much more....

We spend a fun morning at a playground

Apparently the person at the other end can hear better if you put your whole face in!

cousins taking a walk in the woods

All 4 cousins looking and smiling.....a true miracle!
too bad we didn't stick Addy in there too

Isabel loves being the oldest cousin and loves her newest little cousin so much!  I have no idea why I have no pictures of her holding Addy since she held her every time I was willing to put her down  every chance she got!

The girls had multiple tea parties. There is a reason why these tea parties happened outside. Please notice the ground under Ansley.  A little while after this picture was taken a lot more was wet than just the ground under her.

Many popsicles were eaten!

Isabel and Will got to take a bubble bath which they loved!
