Because I have to remember these........

**Taylor Swift has a song called "22" and the first line is "It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters."  The first time we listened to this song in the car Isabel started laughing when it was over.
Isabel: That is so funny that she talked about chipmunks
me: What???
Isabel: I mean hamsters.  She said it was a perfect night to dress up like HAMSTERS!!

**Will begins his prayers like this almost every night and it just makes me laugh. "Dear God, thank you for my mommy, and daddy and sister and brother.......well, I mean that is me but you know that right?"

**On rainy days when Isabel's class cannot go to the playground for recess they play either Simon Says (which my obsessive rule-following daughter is great at by the way) or Heads up, 7 up.  The other day Isabel jumped in the car after school and was telling me how she got to be the person to tap people for a long time because no one knew it was her.  I asked why and she said, "because I tapped the boys!"  Apparently the girls always tap the other girls and the boys always tap the other boys but Isabel figured out that if she tapped a boy they would NEVER assume it was a girl so they never guess her.  She was quite proud of herself and I was pretty impressed too!

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day this year.  Josh and I got to have a Valentine's lunch together while the kids were at school.  Plus there was too much candy, lots of heart arts and crafts and of course school parties.  This was the first year that Will could actually write his name on his valentines for his friends in his class and Isabel wrote her name and her friends' names.

We got the kids the movie Peter Pan.  They had never seen it and loved it.  Will thinks the lost boys are hilarious and I love hearing his laugh!!

I was thinking back to our first Valentine's day as parents and remembered something that never made it to the blog 6 years ago but I think is so sweet.  Isabel was only a week old.  I was completely exhausted but so incredibly in love and so happy!  For Valentine's day a couple from our Sunday school class had brought us dinner.  I had not left the house other than for doctor's appointments and I had nothing to give Josh for Valentine's day so I told him that I didn't want him to do anything for me either.  Of course he comes home from his first day back to work with a card and gift for me.  I was about to cry until he hands me another card and gift.  He had bought an extra card and gift for me to give him so I wouldn't feel bad.  I love him so much!! I'm a lucky girl!!

Isabel's party

We had Isabel's birthday party at a local inflatable place called Hoppity Hop the day after her birthday.  She invited the girls in her class at school and some friends from church and all but one girl came!  They had a great time!!  It is so fun to watch her interact with all of her friends.  Josh and I eat lunch with Isabel regularly and I work in her class some so we know a lot of her friends.  I am so thankful that she is in a class full of sweet friends.

My sweet 6 year old loved every minute of her party!

She loves the slides

Will had fun but he had a little trouble sharing his sister too.  He does not like when Isabel wants to play with her friends instead of him.

They had music playing and black lights/disco ball so the girls had fun dancing when they were not jumping and sliding

Josh and Will really liked the baseball inflatable

She posed for me at the bottom of the slide and told me to take her picture.

This picture makes me laugh because Isabel held up six fingers in 90% of the pictures I took that day but this time she held up 10 for some reason!!

One of Isabel's friends has a brother Will's age so he came too.  These boys were working hard while taking a break from jumping and sliding.

You gotta love girls.  They were all excited to take millions of pictures!!

Isabel picked out cute owl themed invitations, plates, napkins, etc.  We could not find a cake she liked so someone told me about this lady that makes cupcakes for great prices.  I sent her a picture of the invitation and she decorated the cupcakes exactly to match.  Isabel was thrilled!!

We decided not to have 6 candles so it wouldn't mess up the owl

Isabel got so many great gifts from her sweet friends.  This was the first time she could actually read most of the cards she got too.

These crazy boys survived a party full of girls!!

She's SIX!

As always, it is so hard to believe that another year has passed and my baby girl is another year older! Isabel has been looking forward to her birthday for months and was so excited for it to get here!  She got to have donuts for breakfast.  Her daddy had lunch with her at school.  She brought cookies to share with her class.  She got to wear a "Happy birthday" ribbon and told everyone at church that it was her birthday!  I have no doubt that it was a very happy day for my 6 year old.

A quick photo-shoot before school

because Will wanted a picture with "his sissy"

Isabel is such a sweet, smart, and sassy six year old! I am so proud of the little girl she is growing up to be.  She is so well behaved at school (and at home most of the time), can read and write so well, and is usually so sweet to those around her.  She loves to be a little mommy to anyone who will allow it and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Like most siblings, Isabel and Will definitely have a love/hate relationship.  There are times when they can play well together for hours and other times when they cannot get along for 5 minutes.  Will was very sweet to Isabel on her birthday though.  He made her a card with stickers and pictures and wrote "I love Isabel" on it.  He was so proud of it and she kept telling him how much she loved it.  Will also cleaned her room for her......twice!!

Isabel got a couple of fun gifts but I think she may love her doll the most.  Apparently "Katie" needed a friend to play with!  She also got some new clothes, a jump rope that she has wanted for a while and a fun notebook because she wants to write non-stop

We love our little girl so much.  She is beautiful inside and out and I am so blessed to be her mommy!

It has been a while since I have done a funnies post....mainly because I can never remember the funny things they say.  Here are a few I remember though.

**I ordered a large tater tot for us to share at Sonic
Isabel: how are we going to share that?
me: what do you mean? (I couldn't figure out what she was talking about)
Will: yeah, are they just going to give us one big tater tot we have to cut up?

**On that same trip the food came really quickly
me: wow! That was fast
Isabel: Well, she did say it would be right out mom

**Isabel reads everything she sees these days which means we are constantly explaining things.  One day she was reading her milk at Chick-fil-A
Isabel:  What does that mean? Am I fat or free?

**Within the first 30 seconds of the super bowl
Isabel: How do babies come out?
Will: Why do most of the football players have brown skin?

**We listen to Christian/praise music 90% of the time but recently my kids have decided they really like Taylor Swift so we listen to her new songs sometimes too which led to this conversation:
Isabel: She is really silly
me: Taylor Swift? Why?
Isabel: yeah because she is always singing about her boyfriend or to her boyfriend. She should sing about something else sometimes
Will: yeah like about houses, or cars, or potties
Isabel: umm I mean like God Will!

**The main reason we mainly listen to Christian music:
We were eating frozen yogurt one night and they have music playing and the singer's picture shown on the screen.  For some reason my children discuss the pictures and songs the whole time we are there.  This time we were listening to a lovely little song about "getting sideways." I can't remember the exact lyrics but it said something about "that is what a parking lot is for."
Isabel starts laughing and says: Umm did you hear that? They said that is what a parking lot is for.  I think parking lots are to park in!

**While talking about Adam and Eve
Me to Will: Do you remember where Adam and Eve lived?
Will:  ummmmmmmm.........
me: Garden of.............
Will: EGYPT!!!!
