Easter Egg Hunt

I just looked at the Easter posts from the past few years and as always, I'm amazed at how big my kids are getting!  They are at such a fun age and although not always "easy" definitely easier than past years.  Today was the day for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at church and we all had a great time.  There were crafts, a bounce house, popcorn, a pinata and of course hunting for eggs.  For the first time in years, the weather for the hunt was beautiful and actually pretty hot!

We started out at the crafts table

Then Isabel needed a bunny on her face to match the bunny on her dress.

After some jumping in the bounce house, it was pinata time!

Both kids had some great hits but eventually it took a daddy to bust open the pinata

The actual Easter egg hunt was outside this year and there were eggs everywhere!  All of the kids loved it!

Will was all about the Easter egg hunt this year.  At one point I noticed that he was just leaving his already very full basket in the middle of the playground and just bringing eggs to it. I guess it was too heavy to be carrying around.

Dinosaurs at the zoo

The weather has been great for a while and we have been so ready to get to the zoo.  We finally got the chance to go today and had a great time.  Our zoo has a new dinosaur exhibit that opened last week.  The kids were not so sure about it at first but eventually decided they liked it.

This is how Will stayed as we looked at the first few dinosaurs.  He refused to look at them.

Isabel wasn't so sure about them at first either, especially when there was a loud roar from one of them.  She was great as long as daddy held her though. :)

Eventually Will decided they weren't so scary and he could roar just like a dinosaur!!

digging for fossils is always fun

spring break 2012

Last week was our spring break so the kids and I headed to Birmingham for a few days.  Originally I complained about our spring break being so early but since the highs have been in the 70s and 80s for a week, I guess it really was a "spring" break and we had a great time.
Isabel was so proud that she could read Grams' Kindergarten books!!

As always, Isabel and Will had fun playing with their cousins
(Avery was too busy to pose for this picture and I have no idea why Will looks so serious)

We practiced for Easter with plenty of egg hunting outside

No reason not to hide the eggs in tulips right??  Sorry Grams!

We spent a morning at Nana's house too.  I forgot Will's allergy medicine but I thought he would be fine around the cats for just an hour or so.  WRONG!  Will had a pretty intense reaction so we spent the rest of the time outdoors.  Good thing the weather was amazing.

Silly boy!

This picture just makes me laugh!

Funnies..

I haven't done a funnies post in forever so of course that means I have forgotten 90% of the funny things they have said.  Oh well.  Here are some I remember from the last few months.

**On our way to the Opryland Hotel before Christmas
Isabel:  what is the name of that flower that makes the big Christmas tree?  Pornsettia?

**In the car after church
Isabel: today we learned about this guy.  He was mean but then he couldn't see and then he was nice.
Me:  Do you remember his remember his name?  Remember it God changed his name?
Isabel:  Paul?
Will:  Yeah, it was Paul and then it changed to Jesus.

**You will only understand this if your kids watch Super Why....
Me:  Will put your shoes on please
Will:  I can't. It is not in my story!

**After watching a Magic School Bus about the human body, Isabel was explaining what she learned to William..
Isabel:  there are red blood cells and white blood cells in our body
Will:  and green blood cells and blue blood cells and ....
Isabel:  No, that is not right.....but you did get their last names right. good job!

**Interesting questions I have been asked by Will recently......
"When I came out of your belly, did I break it?"
"Could you hear me talking when I was in your belly?"
"What did I like to eat when I was in your belly?"

**Interesting questions I have been asked by Isabel recently...
"Exactly how did Jesus die on the cross?"
"How are Jesus and God the same thing?"
"How old do you have to be when you have to die?"

Pictures Isabel (5) and Will (3)

We had not had the kids' pictures made in over a year so I finally convinced Josh that it was time to get them done (his least favorite thing to do!).  As always, it was an adventure but I think a lot of them turned out really well.  Both kids did really well at first but Will got pretty silly after the first few poses and it was very hard to get a normal smile out of him.  Yes, I'm about to post a million pictures.  It is too hard to pick the ones I want to buy after looking through 150 pictures.  At least I don't have to narrow it down quite as much when I post here. :)

yes, Will decided to try to pick up his big sister.....not exactly the picture we were going for!

**did you notice how red Isabel's hair looks in some of these pictures?  She gets compliments on her hair color at least once a day.  I love that it is so unique and a mixture of so many colors.
