new camera

We got our new camera and are having so much fun playing with it. I still have a lot to learn though. At this point I can basically just point and shoot but I'm learning! Here are some pictures we have taken over the past few days.
I turned around to look at Isabel one day and this is what I found
It is so hard to get a picture of both of them! good enough
Isabel and baby Mallie taking a "nap"
my sweet boy

I think he looks so stinkin cute with those two teeth
Isabel loving on William...we are still working on that whole "gentle" concept...luckily William doesn't seem to mind. Everything she does is funny to him

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day! My mom was in town so we spent the morning with her. After lunch, the kids took really long naps. Then we headed to a cookout on the lake with some friends from church. The weather was perfect, the lake was beautiful, the food was good and we had so much fun!!
Isabel had to take her own picture first before posing for mine

Grams loves her grandchildren

William loves his daddy!

still trying to get a good family picture William with Jenn Fun game of volleyball

Isabel is all about bubbles. She actually didn't have any bubbles to dip this stick in but that didn't stop her from blowing bubbles and popping them for at least 30 min Can you see the rainbow? I know it doesn't show up so well in the picture but it was really pretty

I have to say that we obviously miss our family and friends in Birmingham but I'm so thankful that God brought us to a place where we would quickly make more wonderful friends. We love Hendersonville and we love our church and all of the people there!

lawnmower

Isabel has been obsessed with "mower men" this spring. As soon as she hears a lawnmower, she wants to see him. When Josh cuts our grass, she wants to help so we found her this lawnmower that actually blows bubbles. She loves it!

yes, she is cutting the driveway

Will is 6 months

I can't believe that my precious baby boy is already 6 months old! The scary part is that in another 6 months he will be ONE!! He is at a fun age right now and learning new things every day. He is quite the roller now. Keeping him still is pretty much impossible. If I look away for a second, he can easily be across the room. We are trying to teach Isabel that we have to keep small toys away from him. I can tell this is going to be interesting. Will is also close to sitting. He can sit for a little while by himself until he decides he wants something and then falls over trying to get it. He is babbling, squealing and laughing all of the time. We all love it!! William is still such a happy boy. There was a few days this month when he was cutting 2 bottom teeth and also had a cold. He was pretty fussy (understandably) and it made me realize how happy he usually is. I'm lucky that he is a flexible baby since we are on the go so much! However, we have started to have some trouble in the church nursery. They have had to bring him to me the past 2 Sunday mornings. I think it is just harder for him to fall asleep in the nursery so he is just cranky. I'm worried we may be starting a little separation anxiety as well because he stops crying immediately when he sees me and usually falls asleep. uh oh!! We took him for his 6 month check-up a few days ago and he is doing well. I don't know that we can call him our chunky monkey anymore though! :) He was 17 pounds and 26 inches long (only 50th percentile for both height and weight now). Josh is worried that his dreams of having a son in the NFL are over but I'm just glad that maybe Will won't outgrow his clothes in 2 weeks anymore! Here are some pictures of my precious baby boy. I love him so much! Everyone was right when they told me that I would love having a little boy.
This is how he usually looks...there is always something in his mouth
I have tried to get a picture of his two teeth for days but haven't succeeded. I'll keep trying.

Graduate Recognition Dinner

My favorite part of Josh's job as student minister is hanging out with the students. They are awesome!! Last night we had a dinner to recognize the graduating seniors. These are some great kids and I'm so excited for them. It will be sad when they go off to college though. Isabel likes all of the students (or daddy's friends as she calls them) but she has become really attached to some of these seniors. She started out really shy when we she first met them but now she asks for them multiple times each day and her favorite thing is to give them high fives!
two of Isabel's favorite people
they each wanted a picture holding Iz :)
Isabel giving Jacob a high five..it is a hard thing to get a picture of
sweet Will...it was after his bed time

sweet potatoes

We introduced Will to sweet potatoes last week. I think he likes them! :)

sibling love

I absolutely love watching Isabel and Will together. Since day one, Isabel has been in love with her baby brother. I kept waiting for that "lets take him back to the hospital" moment but it never came. Now that William is getting older, she thinks he is even funnier and he cannot get enough of her. I love driving and hearing the two of them laugh at each other. When I ask what they are laughing at, she tells me that they are just playing a game. I am trying to enjoy these moments as much as possible because I know the sibling rivalry is coming. We have already had a few glimpses of the future as William is getting closer and closer to becoming mobile and can get Isabel's dolls and toys in his mouth. His favorite is to suck on beloved baby Mallie's head. Isabel does not like this at all and yells at William "DO NOT EAT BABY MALLIE!" Josh and I actually think it is pretty funny but we try not to laugh.
Isabel's favorite thing to do is give Will hugs IN his car seat. At first I was so worried she would hurt him but since he laughs hysterically I guess it is fine.

I walked in the room to find them like this the other day. So sweet!

Fun at the Park

We have finally had some days without rain so the parks are no longer underwater!!
William got to swing for the first time. I know it doesn't look like it from this picture but he really did like it. He was just way too interested in watching all the kids to smile for the picture.
Isabel used to be so scared of the swings. She loves it now but slides will always be #1! Everyone says Will looks just like his daddy. What do you think?
Tire swings are fun
**By the way, how cute is Will's shirt? A friend gave me a bunch of clothes from her boys and I think this shirt is hilarious! (thanks again Loren!)

bath fun x2

Will is getting too big for his baby bath tub so we decided to let him try the bath seat. Isabel was so excited that he got to take a bath with her. I think Will had fun too!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a little crazy this year. It started Friday morning when we took Isabel to the doctor b/c she was running a fever, coughing, had a runny nose and didn't sleep much Thursday night. She is never much fun to be around when she doesn't feel well. That night Josh and the middle school kids enjoyed an all-night lock in/out. They had a lot of fun and Josh wasn't anywhere near as exhausted on Saturday as I thought he would be. Plus Will cut his first tooth on Saturday and tooth #2 will be here soon. Although it hasn't made him very fussy, it definitely did not help the sleeping situation! With all this "fun" going on, pictures were not my top priority on Mother's Day so this is the best we got.
This is the first mother's day present that Isabel made for me. She made it at school and is so proud of it.
Isabel actually took this picture of Will and me. Usually when she takes pictures it is a close up of only one part of the person she is taking the picture of. I was impressed by this one. If only she hadn't had her finger on the flash. we were so thankful that Grams got to spend Mother's Day weekend with us
As crazy as the weekend was, I am so thankful to be a mom. It truly is the best job in the world, even if it is also the hardest. God has blessed me with two healthy and happy children that I love more than I thought possible. There is nothing better than a snuggle or kiss from one of my kids or hearing Isabel tell me she loves me...even if she usually says "I luf you, Jennifer." I am also so thankful for my mom who is not only a wonderful mom but a wonderful grandma. Even in the midst of a crazy weekend, I couldn't help but look at the people around me and feel so lucky.
One more thing...I got a new camera for Mother's day so be prepared for some amazing pictures to come!!
