You may wonder why so many pictures are taken in her chair. First of all, she loves her chair but mainly it is because it is the only way I can keep her still long enough to take her picture!!So cute So happy
Just in case you were worried she no longer played with her golf balls hugging her frog...this was followed with a kiss and then throwing him on the floor "come mama"
I wouldn't say she is walking, but she is taking steps. That is something right? This does mean that one day she will walk, right? She can't stand up on her own but I can stand her up and she will usually take 3-4 steps and then fall into whoever she is walking to. This is extremely funny to her. I worry that she enjoys the lunging into someone more than the walking. I have been trying to take pictures but it isn't easy since the few steps she takes are quick and then she lunges at me. I'll share what I have. You can tell these steps are NOT steady!
Over the past few weeks, Isabel has become completely obsessed with phones and anything that even slightly resembles a phone. When she sees one, she immediately puts her hand to her ear and starts saying "hello" (rerow) over and over until finally someone gives her a phone. She then takes the phone, says hello and then waits a second before saying bye bye dada. It is hilarious. Thank goodness my cell phone locks or who knows who she would be calling.
Usually my posts are mainly pictures of Isabel but this time I just have to tell you a funny story. Last night Isabel was doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing so I told her no. She definitely knows what NO means but sometimes, like last night, she doesn't quite "hear" us. I got down on her level and looked at her and said NO again. This time she looked at me, sighed and then gave me a big kiss!! It was hilarious but of course I couldn't laugh so I quickly looked away. Not 30 seconds later she did the same thing again so of course I got down on her level again and told her NO. This time she stopped, sighed again and then leaned forward to rub her head against mine. I guess she assumed she couldn't get in trouble if she was being sweet right? She is a mess and we are going to have our hands full!!
Isabel is 14 months. I realize at some point I'm supposed to stop referring to her age in months but I don't know when that is so I'm sticking with 14 months for now. She is still constantly talking and still not walking. I don't understand how my child can say "I don't know" and "There it is" but refuses to take a step. I think we are actually getting closer though. She will now walk while only holding one of our hands and is getting steadier. She is also taking more risks as she walks holding on to things. Who knows, maybe she really will walk before kindergarten. She is a funny kid though and constantly making us (and herself) laugh. However, the tantrums have started. Fortunately a stern "no" or quick distraction usually stops things at this point but I know we are just beginning this fun stage. I think it helps that she communicates with words or signs pretty well so we know what she wants and why she is mad. The whining comes when she just can't have what she wants. It's a good thing she is cute! :) pretty in her church dress She absolutely LOVES to brush her teeth but I am not allowed to help
Izzy loves walking while holding on to the bars at the top of the stairs
reading in her rocking chair She had to stop and give the bear in the book a kiss
