Monkey shoes

Isabel's Uncle Matt (or "Map" according to Izzy) gave her these monkey slippers when she was 6 months. At that time she wasn't so sure about them. Over the next few months, Isabel liked to play with them and make monkey noises when she saw them but wouldn't put them on her feet. Well, now she is obsessed with wearing them. She will try so hard to put them on her feet by herself and then finally bring them to me to put them on her. It cracks me up to see her with them on so I had to take a couple of pictures.

Dishwasher fun

Isabel has been trying to climb in the dishwasher for a few weeks now and finally succeeded. I guess I turned my back too long! I was about to grab her but remembered that both Josh and I have pictures of us as babies in dishwashers so I had to take a few pictures first!

One Year Pictures

We even got a family picture this time!!

Friday, February 15, 2008

We hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day. I had to post a picture of Isabel in her cute Valentine's Day outfit from her Uncle Matt and Aunt Lauren. It wasn't a great day for us. Neither of us are feeling well. Isabel is getting 2 teeth again and her nose is constantly running AGAIN! Really, how many teeth does she need?? Thankfull my mom offered to watch Izzy and Josh and I had a nice dinner out.

Isabel's new favorite thing to do is play with the magnets on the refrigerator .

Josh brought home a coloring book and crayons for Isabel. They looked cute "coloring" together in the floor.

Isabel is ONE

I can't believe my little baby is ONE!! I actually did better today than I thought. We had so much fun. Isabel was in a great mood all day. We were planning to meet Josh for work but he was extra busy b/c of the tornados so Isabel and I went to visit him at work. She loved eating her french fries, playing in his chair and telling everyone she saw that she was one. Both of her grandmas came to play with her that afternoon and then we went to eat dinner. Here are some pictures of our fun day:

I don't want to take a picture. I want "more" food

We went for her 1 year check up today. She weighs 19 lbs and is 30.5 inches long. She is still long and skinny but our doctor assured me that she is fine!! He said it is time for sippy cups with whole milk and gave me some suggestions for dealing with a picky eater. We'll see how this goes.

One year ago today...........

Josh and I were on our way to the hospital. We stopped to have dinner at Friday's and then were at St. Vincent's by 8pm. Here are some pictures we took before leaving.

I have thought all day about what was going through my mind a year ago. I was trying to get everything done....last minute cleaning, laundry, packing, etc. I was scared but so ready to see my daughter's face and hold her in my arms. I kept trying to imagine what life would be like with a baby. I know now that there is no way to prepare for how your life will change. I was told before by many friends that being a mom is the hardest but most wonderful job in the world. They were right.

Birthday Party #1

When there was a party and presents for Isabel's 6 month "birthday", Josh and I knew that her first birthday would be quite the celebration. We were right. Since Josh's parents have church and won't be able to see Isabel on her actual birthday, we started the celebration with them and Matt and Lauren this past Sunday. Isabel got so many great gifts that she LOVED!! She is a lucky girl to be loved so much by so many. We weren't sure how Izzy would react to her birthday balloon. She has had a love/hate relationship with the balloons at Jim N Nicks. She loves watching them but gets scared when they were tied to her highchair. She loves this one though! I think I hear "oooooo, boooon" about a million times a day.
Nana got Isabel her first purse....she likes to put her golf balls in them.
I promise she knows where her shoes go most of the time.
About to give her lion a kiss
Her first golf clubs from Uncle Matt and Aunt Lauren She tried to crawl holding her golf didn't go well but she kept trying
Her Nana and Papa got her this rocking horse. She LOVES it so much. She has figured out how to make it rock by herself but stops to dance when it plays music.
"I'm ONE!"

Isabel's new face

This is my precious happy little girl. I love that smile!

This is what happens when you take something away that she wants or don't give her what she wants. I thought the tantrums started at 2!!

Josh and I got Isabel this lion for her birthday and we couldn't wait so we gave it to her early. I was really hoping this would help her want to walk since she really has no interest in it. It worked great at first. She loved walking behind it. Then we made a mistake.....we showed her how you can ride on it. Now that is all she wants to do. She will cry when we change it and try to get her to walk behind it. Oh well.....maybe she will walk one day. At least she is cute riding on her lion.
