We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We know we have so much to be thankful for this year! I think Isabel enjoyed her day. She basically spent the day being the center of attention. She watched part of the parade with her Daddy and got dressed in her precious turkey dress that her Aunt Lauren bought her. We tried to get a good picture of her all day with her dress on but this was the best we got. She ate part of our Thanksgiving meal but mainly enjoyed her pumpkin and pear baby food! YUM!! I think her favorite part of the day was playing with all of the sale adds that we were all trying to look through!!

favorite toys

Isabel now loves to hold a toy in each hand and bang them together. It doesn't really matter what it is as long as it makes a noise. She thinks this is hilarious. However, her very favorite things to hold are two of her daddy's plastic golf balls. Once she gets these in her hands, she will keep them forever. She will crawl all over the house never letting go of these golf balls. We think it is so funny so today I took some pictures of her and her favorite toys.

She even keeps them in her hands while reading her book
She traded in her white golf balls for these yellow golf balls but still held on to them while eating her bottle.

9 month pictures

We took Isabel to have her pictures taken last Friday. We wanted some 9 month pictures and also wanted pictures of her in her Titans cheerleader outfit to give to her Pa pa for his birthday. Fortunately she took a great nap right before the pictures and was in the best mood. The only problem is that Isabel no longer sits still for very long. We would sit her up and the photographer might have time to take about 2 pictures before she started crawling for the camera. Luckily her daddy can make her laugh so she would laugh at him long enough for some pictures to be taken. We ended up with some really good ones so of course I have to share some:

I love that you can see her teeth so well in this one

9 months!

Isabel turned 9 months yesterday. It is so hard to believe that she is getting so big. We went for her 9 month check up and she weighs 17lb 10oz and is 28 in long! Her doctor warned us that she seems to be a smart little girl who figures things out quickly and knows what she likes and doesn't like. I'm not sure whether to be proud or terrified!!
I really think this has been my favorite age so far. First of all she is finally sleeping so much better. It took a while for her to be willing to give up that middle of the night feeding. I like to think that she just really enjoyed that time with her mommy. Anyway, she will now sleep 11-12 hours straight. Still not every night but more and more often! Also, she is so funny and learning so many new things. She is constantly "talking" and has a lot of new tricks. She waves bye bye, is starting to clap and do pat-a-cake and still makes tons of funny sounds. Right now, her favorite is playing peek-a-boo. She initiates these games all by herself. Sometimes she will crawl behind something and then peek around it and wait for you to say Pee-pie! Then she will hide again and then peek around it again laughing. She will also put her hands up by her eyes/forehead and then pull them down quickly and wait for you to yell pee-pie! She does this over and over and over. Somehow it never gets old. Isabel is also a big fan of our food. When she sees us start to eat she starts squealing/whining until we let her have some. Yesterday, her doctor said it is time to give her more table food. I still can't believe she is big enough for that. It is a good thing, though, because she is not loving her baby food anymore.
Here are some pictures of my precious 9 month old:

She loves sticking out her tongue.

She is also starting to pull up! Again, our lives are about to get much harder. These pictures are from the first time she pulled up on the futon. She found all of the books that Josh thought were safe and out of her reach. Not anymore!!

Play date

Last week Isabel had a play date with Caleb and Adelynn Newell. Their mom, Ashley, was my college roommate for 3 years and still one of my best friends. Our girls were born 5 weeks apart so we are enjoying asking each other questions and talking about what our girls are doing. We know they will be friends when they grow up but right now, they basically just stare at each other and Isabel tries to crawl over Adelynn or grab her nose. We tried hard to get some good pictures but getting three kids to sit still and smile at the camera was pretty much impossible. This is the best I could do.

This picture makes me laugh because of the three completely different expressions. Please notice that Ashley's kids are smiling while Isabel decided to open her mouth and show her tongue instead! We can thank her daddy for showing her that trick!

This is what most of the pictures looked like because Isabel really wanted to crawl off the couch!

First Halloween

Isabel was a butterfly for her first Halloween! She was precious and liked the costume except for the hat. She wanted that off as soon as we put it on. We went to the fall festival at our church and she loved seeing all of the other kids. She really didn't like the hat and had one hand pulling on it at all times

So happy to have the hat off!

She really liked to fly
and crawl all over the church (yes I'm sure this is SO clean!)
