Daddy's Girl

This has been Josh's first week back to work and Isabel and I have missed him so much. It was obvious that Isabel will be a daddy's girl from the moment she was born. Josh got to carry her from the operating room to meet our family and she was so happy in his arms. When the nurse was giving her a bath, the only thing that calmed her was hearing her daddy's voice. He changed every diaper in the hospital and is still the only one that can get her to burp. I absolutely love watching them together and am so thankful for an amazing husband who is also such a wonderful daddy.

Josh can't wait for Isabel to be able to play with all of her new toys with himLuckily Isabel already loves playing Xbox with her daddy.

Sleepy Baby

For the first week and a half of her life, Isabel spent most of the day sleeping. We wanted her to try out all of her new toys, but she just wanted to sleep in them. As you can see, she was pretty content sleeping in all kinds of places. Fortunately, she has now become a very awake baby, even at night, which her parents just love, sort of.

Family Time

Isabel is blessed to have a great family who loves her very much. Her grandparents have been great, helping Jenn and I get some sleep and get some things around the house done. Her Crazy Uncle Matt is also one of Isabel's biggest fans, as is her aunt-to-be Lauren. Even Jenn's uncle Brad came down from Memphis to see her. As you can see from the pictures, Jenn and I have to take a number if we want to hold little Isabel, but we know she doesn't mind.

We want to say a special thanks to all our family members. You have been such a great help, and we couldn't do it without you.

Home at Last

Yesterday we came home, and it was great. Isabel was pretty tired the whole day which meant that her mom and dad could get some rest too. She has been eating well and is always happy when she is awake.

Here is Isabel fitting snuggly in her car seat. She didn't seem to mind the car, but she did suck Jenn's finger the whole time so who knows what future trips will bring.

Here's sweet little Isabel looking cute. This has nothing to do with being at home, but she's cute.

Isabel sleeping. She's got her mom's love for sleeping.

Isabel awake! Jenn was very excited about this ladybug outfit.

The Big Day

On Jenn's due date Isabel was feeling pretty comfortable so she wanted to stay a little longer. On Monday night we went to the hospital so that we can begin an inducement early Tuesday morning. It was that Monday night that we found out that Jenn was already having contractions. Even after inducing, Isabel was still trying to stay put so Jenn had a C-Section at 5:35pm on Tuesday. You can see Jenn before we went to the hospital and then some pictures of sweet little Isabel. The grandparents took lots of pictures which will soon find their way to this blog as well.

No that is not a pillow under her shirt, it's a stubborn little baby who is quite happy where she is.

This picture above is Isabel at 5 minutes old. They grow up so fast!

Isabel weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 20.75 inches long.

As you can see she is a very pretty baby.

Here is the happy family looking almost as tired as we really are.

Isabel's Room

Here is Isabel's new room. Special thanks to Su and her creativity, and special thanks to Pottery Barn Kids for letting us spend so much money to make this room so pretty. Someday Isabel will sleep all night long in this room.

Welcome to our new blog. We hope this will be a place where family and friends can connect with us and learn about all of the changes that will be taking place in our family with our new baby girl, Isabel Paige, who is coming tomorrow. We are so excited to finally be able to see her and hold her. We'll keep you updated.
